Need Help with Viper 5901 w/ Remote Start?
Alright I would like some more feedback on this alarm I just put in. I had the Viper 5901 installed on a 2007 Nissan Altima. My car is push to start, and I was advised that this causes a bit of conflict when using remote start. Each time I remotely start my car, as soon as the break is pushed, the car is shut off immediately. I understand this is a security issue and the only way to keep the car running is to enter the key in the ignition. However, there is no key slot because it is push to start. How can I shut off the remote start and just drive without having to constantly restart the car to run it? Thanks for your help. Best answer will be chosen.
Sorry to tell you this, but I am pretty sure that is the way it has to work on your car….I don’t think there is any way around it. There is a possibility I am wrong, but I have been installing for over 20 years, and still do professionally. I have put remote starts into those cars, and that is the way they have worked every time. There are different “transponder bypasses” available from different manufacturers, but all the ones I have used work that way.
